Summer fading fast in Northern Michigan…
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

serotinal
(sɪˈrɒt n l, ˌsɛr əˈtaɪn l, adjective) Serotinal is the most romantic and beautiful word pertaining to this time of year, alluding to or occurring in late summer. For example, the breezy, cool nights, the leaves on the ground, the earlier occurrence of the sunset and back to school season are all serotinal manifestations. They are the beginning markings of autumn in the form of summer nostalgia. (via tracknumber-6)

Under the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Drips shimmering
Over the garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
Who remembers.Under the summer roses
When the flagrant crimson
Lurks in the dusk
Of the wild red leaves,
Love, with little hands,
Comes and touches you
With a thousand memories,
And asks you
Beautiful, unanswerable questions.

“I love borders. August is the border between summer and autumn; it is the most beautiful month I know. Twilight is the border between day and night, and the shore is the border between sea and land. The border is longing; when both have fallen in love but still haven’t said anything. The border is to be on the way. It is the way that is the most important thing.”

Well,,, thank you for the follows. I am enjoying prowling your blog. You have great taste. Cheers.
You’re most welcome. Your photography is beautiful! Thank you for following, I’m happy you enjoy my thoughts!
I hope you are having a fabulous weekend!
I am not beautiful nor dazzling.
I am not graceful nor the most interesting person in the room.
I am not warm or radiant like the summer breeze.
But I will tell you this:
I am rough and sharp around my edges.
I flinch when voices are raised or someone touches me.
I am cold and distant.
I am strong and wild.
I am a survivor.
And I’m sorry I don’t fit into your ideal “aesthetics”.
Because last time I checked, surviving wasn’t trending.
